Albert Costa validated his victory of last year at the �Masters of Castille and Leon� in tennis after delivering, in the final, a 6-3 6-3 score, over an irregular and little inspired Rafael Nadal, who was not able to respond to the power, the solidity and the self-assurance that Costa displayed today. Praise was bestowed on the veteran from the first moment, since Albert Costa started the match with an offensive game hitting the target thanks to a powerful serve and the defenselessness that Rafael Nadal started his game with.

The Mallorcan recovered tentatively during his service game, but squandered it to tie the score and struggled with his game, after which, Costa was able to control the reins of the match after trailing in the game. It became more difficult for Rafael Nadal to get back into the game and in fact, it seemed like sometimes, he hardly appeared at all. He had no answer for the powerful and exact blows of his opponent, but briefly succeeded in extending and winning the fourth game to equal the score to two.

Both tennis players began to play with patience. It seemed that the match was progressing on equal footing where both players were waiting for an opportunity to break at the same time avoiding any recklessness.

Each player managed to hold his serve until in the fifth when Costa turned around and took advantage of the unforced errors of Nadal and broke the serve of the Mallorcan tennis player, who, definitively, did not feel comfortable on the court.

Nadal never threw in the towel and fought each ball but it can be said that Albert Costa �thundered� against him. The Catal�n was more regular and his consistency ended up wearing down his opponent, thereby also taking the second set, 6-3.
