The Majorcan tennis player Rafael Nadal showed his willingness to play the
fifth point of the tie against the Czech Repyblic, "especially if the tie is
still alive, cause I love playing under pressure."
After the loss suffered in the doubles, the Spanish team needs to win the
two singles matches in order to get through the tie in the Davis Cup World
Group.
"I don't know what the captains will decide but if I play and it's the fifth
and final point I'd love to play. I love this kind of competition and
playing under pressure. You have to be prepared for anything," said the
Manacor-born player, who admitted to "having felt the weight of the pressure
in Davis Cup in those matches."
In spite of the loss they had to take against Czechs Jiri Novak and Radek
Stepanek, Nadal felt good about the game. "It was a good match. I think I
played well and we just couldn't take the few chances we had to break their
serve and make the match difficult for them. They play very well here and we
could not." said Nadal, who will be a solid doubles pair in the future.
"For me it is a personal goal to play Davis Cup. Now, in singles matches,
it's very difficult because we have Carlos Moy and Juan Carlos Ferrero
ahead of us and with Robredo, in doubles, there is an open door," admitted
the Majorcan player, who in his Davis Cup debut lost the two matches he
played.
His presence on the last day is subject to the captains' decision, who have
the option to include Feliciano Lpez.
