The male doubles scene at the Olympic Games has been left without a Spanish presence, similar to the female singles, after the routs of Carlos Moy� and Rafael Nadal against the Brazilians Andre Sa and Flavio Saretta by scores of 7-6 and 6-1, and of Feliciano L�pez and Tommy Robredo against the sixth-seeded Argentineans Etlis Gast�n and Mart�n Rodriguez by scores of 6-3 and 6-4.

The pair formed by Moy� and Nadal had a short-lived time in the doubles tournament at the Olympic Games by losing in the first round against the Brazilians Andre Sa and Flavio Saretta by scores of 7-6 (6) and 6-1. Moy� could not finish this match as he did his morning triumph in singles play.

The Mallorcan duo had the first set within their reach but they could not close out the conquest of the set, awarded to the South American team in the tie break, who in the second round will face the fourth-seeded team from Zimbabwe, formed by Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyet.

The two Spaniards blamed the physical wear and tear that both have suffered in the last hours. Only hours before, Carlos Moy� had a difficult encounter in singles play with the Swede Thomas Enqvist, decided in three sets, and Rafael Nadal landed in Athens with little time for recovery after he won his first title as a professional in Sopot barely twenty-four hours before.

Robredo and Feliciano dedicate themselves to singles
