Rome (Italy) - David Ferrer is conscious that the Spanish duel he'll make against Rafael Nadal, in this Saturday's semifinals, won't be easy. He already lived a marathon against Alberto Martin, when he saved four match points before getting the spot, after 2h19 of match.

"No, I don't have plans", he answered the reporters, when he was asked about his ideal strategy to face the left-handed Nadal. "Actually, you can't make plans against him. I have to run and run, that's all. But if he's in a good day, it will be tough", admits Ferrer.

At 23 years old, Ferrer lives his best moment. He reached the 20 position in the ranking a few weeks ago and he thinks he's improving. "I'm serving better and going more often to the net. But I have to work my mental power. Anyway, I feel more confident". He, however, thinks that winning the title is something not very probable. "Not at this moment, it would be very hard".

Nadal is the one with confidence. To begin, he won all the 13 last duels he made against Spanish players. His last loss was just to Ferrer, in Stuttgart last year. Besides, he doesn't lose in the last 15 matches and has 29 victories in his 31 matches on clay this season.

"I'm playing well, confident, and I don't know exactly the reason", says the 18 years old boy, who already won four tournaments on clay in 2005. "I think I improved a little my serve, I'm controlling better the ball, both forehand and backhand. I feel comfortable on court and maybe that's why I'm winning more matches."

Nadal reached the semifinals by defeating Radek Stepanek, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.
